Finite temperature topological order in 2D topological color codes
In this work the topological order at finite temperature in two-dimensional color code is studied. The topological entropy is used to measure the behavior of the topological order. Topological order in color code arises from the colored string-net structures. By imposing the hard constrained limit the exact solution of the entanglement entropy becomes possible. For finite size systems, by risin...
متن کاملGauge color codes: optimal transversal gates and gauge fixing in topological stabilizer codes
Color codes are topological stabilizer codes with unusual transversality properties. Here I show that their group of transversal gates is optimal and only depends on the spatial dimension, not the local geometry. I also introduce a generalized, subsystem version of color codes. In 3D they allow the transversal implementation of a universal set of gates by gauge fixing, while error-dectecting me...
متن کاملBeyond Stabilizer Codes
Knill introduced a generalization of stabilizer codes, in this note called Clifford codes. It remained unclear whether or not Clifford codes can be superior to stabilizer codes. We show that Clifford codes are stabilizer codes provided that the abstract error group is given by an extraspecial p-group. Suppose that the abstract error group has an abelian index group, then we show that a Clifford...
متن کاملNonbinary quantum stabilizer codes
We define and show how to construct nonbinary quantum stabilizer codes. Our approach is based on nonbinary error bases. It generalizes the relationship between selforthogonal codes over F4 and binary quantum codes to one between selforthogonal codes over Fq2 and q-ary quantum codes for any prime power q. Index Terms — quantum stabilizer codes, nonbinary quantum codes, selforthogonal codes.
متن کاملNonbinary Stabilizer Codes
Recently, the field of quantum error-correcting codes has rapidly emerged as an important discipline. As quantum information is extremely sensitive to noise, it seems unlikely that any large scale quantum computation is feasible without quantum error-correction. In
